La Luna de Miel [Jumby Bay Island]
I'm currently on a much needed Caribbean vacation, i.e. laying on a beach with white sands and clear waters, eating fresh mangos - but I digress... After the engagement party, and the the bridal shower, and the rehearsal dinner and the bachelorette party, and finally the wedding, our bride is sure to be exhausted. Luckily, after the "I do," the lovely bride [and groom] will embark on a much needed vacation of their own to de-stress from all the wedding activities. After visiting Jumby Bay Island a few days ago, it seemed the obvious locale for our newly weds. The 300 acre resort is just off the coast of main land Antigua (about a 10 minute ferry ride) and features dozens of luxury villa accommodations. Most rooms have outdoor showers and bathtubs and no cars are allowed on the island; all guests receive a bike for the length of their stay and the beach is virtually steps away from each villa. Visit the Jumby Bay's website for more images of the gorgeous landscape and rooms as well as a list of amenities and rates.
