Queen of the DAMNED [Rihanna's Rock Star 101]

Music's "good girl gone bad" shows us all how to be rock stars in her latest clip, Rock Star 101. As expected, the video is a well directed concoction of edgy looks and body paint, complete with excessive displays of skin and some tongue on guitar action; very reminiscent of her Disturbia video. It's hardly groundbreaking (for Rihanna), but it is certainly a visually stimulating clip. Enjoy.

I'm not so sure about this wig though.

LIFE After DEATH [Alexander McQueen]

I cannot help but be selfishly upset when I think of the loss that the fashion world suffered at the death of Lee Alexander McQueen. His work was nothing short of genius. And while I would like to be sympathetic, I'm ashamed to say that my admiration for his work refuses to allow me the capacity to understand his suffering. His ability to mesh whimsical with dark, and demure with provocative, all while telling a beautiful and emotional story that transcends fashion is... was truly inspiring. He has left a void, that many (myself included) fear cannot be filled.

For his last collection, McQueen looked to the dark ages for inspiration. The result is an ironically spiritual view into his vividly lucid world. Sadly, this is truly the closest we will ever get to seeing it.

Parseltongue 101 [Raf Simons]

This pebbled leather men's workbag is the perfect accessory for a busy, fashionable metropolitan business man. Designer Raf Simons continued the serpentine aesthetic from his Spring 2010 ready to wear collection in the accessories with snake like buckles and straps. Let's add this to my birthday list.

Arachnophobia [Roberto Cavalli]

The good folks at net-a-porter just got a new pet spider, but don't worry; he isn't the least bit scary. His name is Roberto and he spins webs made of grey suede. He can be all yours for $700.

LBD [Carven]

This ruffled taffeta dress by Carven is quite possibly the perfect little black dress. The design is simple yet dramatic; demure yet sexy; and sophisticated yet edgy. It's one of the most versatile dresses I have ever come across and it's bound to be a stunner at any cocktail event.

It's SHOWTIME! [Christian Louboutin Men's Shoes]

Christian Louboutin's men's collection is finally here and it certainly doesn't disappoint. He applies his signature formula of updating classic and timeless styles with edgy and intricate details. They are the perfect accessory for a night out on the town. And yes the bottoms are still red. I'm sold!

Two words, three syllables: "Birthday Gifts!"

Heart of the CITY [Buckler Fall 2010]

Grey is the new black and boots are the new brogue for Buckler's Fall 2010 collection. Sleek suits and chunky knits dominated the runway in various shades and grey and rich textures. It's a pretty safe aesthetic, but in a land where a designer look could potentially inflict a seizure, a look this clean and cool is surely a breath of fresh air.

You Can Just... WALK ON! [Lanvin]

These are the freshest sneakers I have seen in a long time. I've had a long running obsession with Lanvin sneakers and each season my fondness grows stronger. I think I just reached a peak.

Check My CREDENTIALS! [Beyoncé's Why Don't You Love Me]

Check out Beyoncé's latest video "Why Don't You Love Me" shot by the incomparable Melina Matsoukas. Domesticity never looked this good. Overall the styling was INSANE; it was such a fresh take on the classic 50's era look.  The Gianmarco Lorenzi shoes (the garden shot) and the fist full of rings (on the phone) were pure genius! No complaints here! Enjoy!

Good job highlighting all those Grammys in the video and shout out to baby sis Solange for writing a dope song!
