LIFE After DEATH [Alexander McQueen]

I cannot help but be selfishly upset when I think of the loss that the fashion world suffered at the death of Lee Alexander McQueen. His work was nothing short of genius. And while I would like to be sympathetic, I'm ashamed to say that my admiration for his work refuses to allow me the capacity to understand his suffering. His ability to mesh whimsical with dark, and demure with provocative, all while telling a beautiful and emotional story that transcends fashion is... was truly inspiring. He has left a void, that many (myself included) fear cannot be filled.

For his last collection, McQueen looked to the dark ages for inspiration. The result is an ironically spiritual view into his vividly lucid world. Sadly, this is truly the closest we will ever get to seeing it.

R.I.P.

  1. Beautiful - like a fantasy. Love the two white gowns - the first one looks like a swan queen
